1 MAY 2011 Verein Berlin Künstler / 17:00 / With and by Richard Rabensaat and Natascha Zimmermann: no more flowers Eine
illustrieren. Duration: 12 min.

6 MAY 2011 Prenzlauer Promenade 149-152, Level 6, Room 662 / 20:00 / With and by Lisa Jeschke & Lucy Beynon: john hurts [from idiot] unintelligible demystifying piece to last forty-five minutes. neither very theatrical, nor audible, nor particularly important. certainly idealistic though. and quick. too quick some might say // lisa jeschke & lucy beynon have been making performance work together since 2007. they are based in berlin. // http://crowinstigated.blogspot.com
7 MAY 2011 tamtamART / 20:00 / Curated by Ya-Wen Fu : Lose weight exercise is a new performance project. Description of HUNGER (not only from physiology, but also from psychology): a strong desire. At this time, both men and women, have a new standard for the “perfect shape” which is more stringent and more diversified. At some point, we even get stuck in morbid thoughts “hunger for hunger “. Therefore, we intend to mock this bizarre social phenomenon through this series of performance- Lose weight exercise. At the opening on March 7th, we’ll have video installation and “lose weight exercise lesson” for the audience to join us. An exhibition will run from the 7-15 MAY with work by the following artists: Franziska Keune (DE), Hsuan Huang (TW), I-Chen Tsou (TW), Mirella Oestreicher (DE), Ya-Wen Fu (TW), Ying-Chih Chen (TW), Yun-Ting Hung (TW)
8-13 MAY 2011 LEAP (Lab for Electronic Arts and Performance)/ Organised by the Berlin-based artist collective weareChopChop: weareChopChop are presenting a workshop and an exhibition in May with the title: CTRL+ALT+ESCAPE. Operative Performance is aimed at connecting the fields of media and performance art in workshops exploring the relationship between new media technologies and the body in a setting incorporating political and academic perspectives on the subject. The title of this project is deducted from the keyboard short cutused to force-quit a computing process gone unresponsive or awry. For us it serves as a metaphor for an obstruction, a subversion or an intervention into digitally-based data-distribution systems moving towards unrestricted information flows, opaque recycling of (personal) data and monopolistic market dominators. After participating in a 1-week workshop, a group of media- software- and performance artists will explore the topic of “digital resistance” and develop information power structures through digital intervention with a live staging at LEAP on May 13th. Werkschau with:

12 MAY 2011Über Lebenskunst Klub / 16:00 – 20:00 / Curated by Paula Marie Hidebrandt: “The Revolution will not be televised”: wer macht was im Klimawandel? Download the full programme here: The Revolution_Program
Wer fängt an?

In this collaborative work the open ground at Schlossplatzin Berlin-Mitte is the foundation for the development of an installation-performance. This installation tackles the theme of agriculture and the contamination or change of use of farmland (as well as the term “soil” in general). Here this theme is conveyed to spectators using both metaphorical and play-based actions with observers watching the performers execute different gestures in a square over an unlimited period of time. One performer has a bucket in the hand, the other a spade, while a third performer uses movement to portray a watering can. A musician provides instrumental accompaniment throughout the entire performance.

21 MAY 2011 Blo-Ateliers (as part of Hunger Festival) / 18:50 / Organised by Ruth Pulgram: Quartett Bildnerisches Duellmit Nicole Hummel (F), Andrea Loebell-Buch (DE), Caroline Meyer Picard (F/DE) – choreographisches Konzept , Ruth Pulgram (AT/CH), Yorgös Tambaktis (F).

27 MAY 2011 Freies Museum / 11:00- 22:00 / Organised by Joel Verwimp/Verleg Verlagt: Autobiographiction: half Open structure with registration by email at joel.verwimp@muffie.org. VerlegtVerlag is a practice under development by Galeazzi&Verwimp, conceived in order to explore means of production and dissemination. During the session at the Freies Museum we want to rewrite the archive of Swiss artist Nicolas Y Galeazzi through the eyes of the participants. We present a model to engender and structure knowledge, situations and relations. In a shared space, the participants function as an open group where questions of complicity and hospitality in art production surface. Between anarchy and the rule of majority this praxis actively searches for a spatialized production of dis-agreement. The question is to what extent collaborative structures can produce situations in themselves and more importantly, how these situations in turn determine production structures. (In other words, what are the ways for people to come together and how it’s related to their production proces.)

***MPA CLOSING EVENT** 31 MAY 2011 Über Lebenskunst Klub / 16:00-20:00 / Organised by Paula Marie Hidebrandt: “BORN TO BE WILD” Wann wird Utopie Wirklichkeit?

Workshop I: University of the Trees (Shelley Sacks)
Workshop II: Berliner Wildes Leben (Michiko Nitta, Susanna Hertrich und David Haley)
